HAUTLENCE EXPANDS TO KUALA LUMPUR WITH A NEW POINT OF SALE

HAUTLENCE EXPANDS TO KUALA LUMPUR WITH A NEW POINT OF SALE

HAUTLENCE’s exclusive watches are now available at Kuala Lumpur’s prestigious Suria Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). HAUTLENCE celebrated the opening of this new sales point and the official launch of the INVICTUS Morphos chronograph in Malaysia over a two-day event in the presence of its energetic ambassador, Eric Cantona.

HAUTLENCE watches are now sold at luxury watch retailer Cortina Watch’s boutique at Suria KLCC. Already HAUTLENCE’s strategic partner in Singapore, Cortina Watch is one of Asia’s leading retailers and distributors, carrying over 50 brands in more than 25 outlets across the continent. Considered Malaysia’s premier shopping destination, Suria KLCC is located in the capital’s famous Petronas Twin Towers and is surrounded by luxury hotels, office buildings, a scenic park and several fountains. This shopping centre spans six floors and is entirely dedicated to luxury brands, thus attracting the city’s most prominent clientele.

HAUTLENCE celebrated this significant step on May 20 and 21 in Kuala Lumpur in presence of Director of the brand’s distribution partner Pacific Time, Sharon Lim, General Manager of Cortina Watch Malaysia, Tay Liam Khoon, and Eric Cantona. Cantona proudly presented the brand’s first chronograph, the INVICTUS Morphos, for the first time in Malaysia. Co-designed with HAUTLENCE, the sporty INVICTUS Morphos bears Cantona’s digital fingerprint on the case back and is produced in a limited edition of 250 pieces.

Commenting on the events, HAUTLENCE Co-founder and CEO Guillaume Tetu said: “We are very excited to expand our partnership with Cortina Watch to Malaysia. Having Eric Cantona with us during the events has been very beneficial for the brand and has helped increase its visibility even more. It is such a fantastic feeling to witness the incredible success of the INVICTUS Morphos on the Asian continent. We have everything necessary to grow the brand in this market of true connoisseurs and lovers of creative and contemporary watchmaking.”

A press conference was held on the first day at the Smokehouse restaurant of the beautiful colonial-styled Majestic Hotel, in attendance of 60 handpicked journalists. The second event was hosted as a dinner with about 40 collectors at Marble 8, a modern and elegant fine dining and steakhouse restaurant. Famous for their private club ambiance, both restaurants were the ideal venues as they embodied the spirit of HAUTLENCE’s Gentlemen Rebels Club.

A brand-new chapter in HAUTLENCE history

Ever since its foundation in 2004, HAUTLENCE has been dedicated to bringing a new dynamic into the art of watchmaking, thus gaining the recognition of watch collectors and connoisseurs the world over. The brand has a portfolio of four calibres designed and manufactured in-house and relies on external partners for the movements of certain collections. HAUTLENCE launched the HL calibre in 2005, followed in 2009 by the HLQ calibre, with the brand’s third calibre, the HLC, hot on its heels in 2010. The following year saw the introduction of the high-flying HL2.0 calibre in a variety of different versions. Since 2012, HAUTLENCE has enjoyed the support of MELB Holding, which has made its experience and network accessible to the brand with the aim of developing effective synergies between HAUTLENCE and the group as a whole.

Like its name, an anagram of the brand’s hometown of Neuchâtel, HAUTLENCE is renowned for turning things upside down. The brand has challenged the boundaries of traditional watchmaking designs by drawing on its architecturally-inspired roots and uniting them with innovative mechanical solutions borrowed from other industrial worlds. Acutely aware of the two essential dimensions of time and space, HAUTLENCE is driven to design timepieces with original lines and multi-level dial constructions that create incredible depth.
